Pleased to say that I found no worrying eye problems, some were a little loose at the corners but generally eyes were of good shape and colour. Very few uneven bites too and it was heartening to find that ears seem to be getting to a better size, hopefully we are losing the spaniel look that has been rather prevalent of late. Rear angulation needs watching - too excessive and the correct newf. movement is lost especially when combined with steep upper arms.

I'm always puzzled by the fashion of hacking off all the chest hair, combined with straight fronts it gives a terrier like look. Trim to minimise faults and enhance virtues, don`t just copy each other. That said there were some really lovely animals that made classes a challenge. The higher bitch classes in particular were excellent and places could easily be swapped round on another day. There are some really promising youngsters coming along too. All dogs were well presented and of course temperaments were as they should be, most were really enjoying their day out and I got lots of lovely newf kisses while going over them."
