"I am grateful to have been asked to judge this fabulous breed. It is an honour. My most important observation as I judged was that temperament is all that it should be in our large breed; benign, gentle and all were biddable. Being kissed by so many Newfoundlands is a joy many would not understand. A close second has to be good construction and conformity, which I saw in all dogs. Grooming and presentation was excellent, not only a requirement for showing but for general health, and not a sign of loose eyes which the Kennel Club asked me to look out for. So, thank you to all for allowing me to judge your fine dogs and bitches today."
