"Many thanks to the Officers and Committee of the NNC for their kind invitation to judge their 29th Championship Show. I consider it a real honour to be asked to judge a club show. I thoroughly enjoyed my day with you, from the moment I arrived to a very warm welcome until the end of the day it was such a friendly atmosphere.

To all the exhibitors thank you for the sporting way you accepted my placings, all the dogs were a delight, all beautifully clean and well groomed, they were a real credit to you all. Of course I mustn't forget all the Newfies, thank you for the secret kisses I received, they were much appreciated and I hope you all enjoyed your day.

On a more serious note, I paid particular attention to every dogs eyes, I am happy to say that I didn't find any dogs with Conformational Defects of the Upper and Lower Eye Lids as per the Kennel Club Breed watch.

Of more concern to me was the number of dogs with a level bite. I know our breed standard states that a level bite is acceptable but I wouldn't like it to become the norm."
