"First of all I would like to say a huge thank you to the committee for their kind invitation and their hospitality before and during the show. There was a very good entry of 55 dogs and 61 bitches for my co-judge Steve Walker but unfortunately due to the adverse weather conditions more than half were absent in both sexes, ironically the eventual BD and BIS came from probably the furthest away. I thank all the exhibitors that did brave the elements and get there for their support.

It is always a great honour to judge a breed club show and even more so when it is not your own breed. Overall I found the majority in good conditioning both in coats and muscle as I would expect from any working dogs. All had excellent temperaments and webbed feet. One or two things I found were, a few with mouth faults and dirty teeth, lacking in body and probably most worrying was some of the dogs going away were far too close behind and throwing legs. This is a breed that should move with a free slightly rolling gait and for me should be able to do that all day and some were moved too fast and although it looks good its not correct as they would not be able to sustain that pace."
