"My Thanks to all exhibitors from Home and Overseas for a quality entry, however we must as breeders look to the future and watch out for two problems creeping into the breed. First is open round eyes which is not giving the noble expression the standards calls for and secondly too many straight fronts, but on the whole there were a lot of beautiful Newfoundlands especially in the latter classes where I was splitting hairs in the final placements."
