Our new baby, Sandbears Perfection
Beatrice at 12 weeks old

We are especially grateful to Suzanne Blake of Sandbears who entrusted us with our first Newfoundland, our beautiful "Flo" and more recently with our adorable new baby "Beatrice". She and her husband Mark have been incredibly generous with their time and we truly appreciate their advice and mentoring. They have some super dogs but more than that, they have demonstrated the best qualities you'd expect from a responsible and caring breeder. Please, don't ever buy a Newfoundland puppy from anyone other than a genuine and credible breeder, one who is committed to the standards laid down by the Kennel Club and Breed Clubs. Such breeders can always be contacted through the Club web sites listed on our links page.

A special mention goes to Graham and Jan Hill, owners of Ruby (Hanningfield Princess Leia), Maia (Alphabear Ocean Blue for Ableseanewf) and until recently Maisie (Honeybears Funny Girl) who sadly passed away at a grand old age. They are members of the Grangewaters Working Newfoundlands group in Essex where we now enjoy our water training. Graham and Jan, along with Steve and Cindy Walker (Hanningfield Newfoundlands) and the other members of the group have been brilliant in the way they have encouraged us, knowing that we were newfie novices.

We'd also like to thank Joanne Watts and Swanpool Gina Lollobrigida (now a Champion and still winning CCs as a Veteran, congratulations). That sweet expression and her amiable and affectionate nature (Gina's that is!) instantly convinced us that the legendary Newfoundland temperament was no myth and a newfie was for us.

The many newfie owners and exhibitors who we have since met and who have been so friendly and encouraging also deserve a word of thanks, as do those people who have taken the time and trouble to email us with kind remarks and constructive suggestions which have helped us to develop this web site.

If you see us at a show or Water event, come up and say "hello" and let us know you've visited our site. We are always happy to have comments (good ones hopefully!) and suggestions.
